About

The free tool that helps you accurately quantify the impact of your Stays and Events in all Accor hotels

In 2023, Accor had striven to enhance its methodology for calculating Scope 3 emissions, in order to overcome data challenges and to enhance the scalability of its carbon emissions calculation. It empowered internal stakeholders and the group to compute precise emissions data and monitor progress for each hotel on an annual basis.

Taking on the challenge to accurately measure Scope 3

Accor, a global hospitality leader, is committed to drastically reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, in line with the Paris Agreement. Achieving this requires accurate measurement of greenhouse gas emissions across three scopes (direct, indirect from electricity, and other indirect emissions).

Measuring Scope 3 emissions is particularly challenging due to complex, decentralized data collection across diverse hotel brands and operations.

Stay

Calculate the footprint of one or more room nights using Accor hotel data.

Event

Calculate the footprint of your event taking place at an Accor hotel for one or more days.

Calculation methodology

Accor developed a methodology based on physical flows, integrating hotel initiatives into emissions calculations. It categorizes emissions into ten key areas, from laundry and food, to vehicles and IT equipment.

This approach improves accuracy and helps target effective carbon reduction actions, advancing Accor’s sustainability goals.
